Our preschool officially opened in January, 2018. We have two classrooms, one for the 4-year-olds, and one for the 5-year-olds.

Our capable teachers lay a foundation for learning the basics, and they spend all year teaching these little ones how to speak English.

They also show them the love of Jesus and teach Scripture memorization, songs about God, and exciting Bible stories with vivid flannelgraphs.

We’ve introduced Equipping Minds methods, which helps traumatized children form new pathways in their brains for better cognitive skills. We’re the first school in eSwatini to provide this training to our teachers, and we’re excited about how it will also help the students in our primary school.

We received word on April 17, 2023 that we’d been granted the land behind Little Lambs Preschool. Nothing happens fast in Africa, but finally we’ve also received the signed Memorandum of Understanding from the chief of the village, followed by the tying of the reed ceremony on site to show that the agreement for us to use the land for the school is binding. So now our dream of building an elementary school will finally become a reality.

The standard for a passing grade in eSwatini’s government schools is only 40%; we’re so eager to help our students learn far more than that–to love learning–and do so in a loving, Christian environment.

Our goal and prayer is to open Shepherd’s Staff Christian Primary School in January, 2027.

Our goal is to have our Little Lambs go straight into 1st grade at Shepherd’s Staff Christian Primary School. Does one of these preschoolers in the 4-year-old class speak to your heart? You may start sponsoring that child immediately at $25 or $50 per month. If you choose the $50 per month, part of your sponsorship will go toward building the primary school.

We have no guarantee that each of the Little Lambs will attend Shepherd’s Staff, as family situations sometimes change. But if that happens, we’d be glad to help you select a new 1st grader to sponsor.
